Review: Figs & Rouge 100% Organic Aloe & Mint Balm

Posted by Swagata

I think most of us would prefer one multitasking product over 2 or 3 separate products. Why? Question  You carry  one product hence save bag space, keep one product on your dressing table or washroom cabinet hence make space for the other essentials, and it actually burns a smaller hole in your pretty pocket Grin . Today I will review a product capable of multitasking- Figs and Rouge 100% Organic Aloe & Mint Balm. I received this product in my February Vellvette box.

Product says: Figs & Rouge 100% Organic Aloe & Mint, Aloevera & Mint Balm. Certified Organic. Lip, face, hand and body balm. Protects your skin against dryness! Ultra smooth with Organic ingredients which are both nourishing and soothing. Soothing & Protecting. Petroleum free.

Price: Rs. 549 for 17 ml

Packaging: the product comes in a little round, flat tin container. It is small and can be easily slipped into the handbag. It is a bit unhygienic since one has to dip fingers in it to use the product.

Ingredients: Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil, Butyrospermum, Parkii Fruit Butter, Cera Alba, Mentha Piperita Leaf Oil, Aloe Barbandesis Fruit Juice, Limonene Linalool.

Consistency: Normal balm like consistency. Easily melts when rubbed between fingers. Smells of mint and feels cool on application (both smell and cooling sensation subsides after sometime). The product tends to melt down in the summer heat. Hence use can become messy.

How it fared on me: I got this product in February and was loving it. But I feel this is not for me in the summers. It is great for chapped skin and lips. Great for rough elbows and knees. When applied on nails it imparts a healthy sheen. It is easily absorbed by the skin and feels soothing. But all of it is for winters. As the summers approached, the product turned from lightweight to greasy for my already oily skin. Still I would say I like the balm. I did not like the smell though (I am not a fan of minty flavors when it comes to balms, I like things sweet and fruity).

TO SUM UP:

Likes:

  • Heals and soothes chapped skin and lips.
  • Very lightweight hence can be used on face and hands.
  • Works effectively as a cuticle and nail cream
  • Travel friendly packaging

Dislikes:

  • Not easily available.
  • Price on the higher side.
  • Not a product for summers.
  • Did not like the smell (personal preference)

Final verdict: A multi-tasking product indeed, but only in the winters. Dry skinned ladies might find it useful all year round.

Will I buy this again: I am happy I got this in my box, that too in February. I loved trying it. I don’t think I will buy this again (for the price and the smell).

Did you use this product? Did you like it? Please feel free to comment.

I am hating the weather here in Kolkata. I guess it is same throughout the country. And Oh!!! I bleached my feet to get rid of that awful tan. I am glad they look better Lashes  . Bye and take care till the next post.
