In my previous posts I had reviewed a cleanser(Biotique Bio Berberry Refreshing cleansing Lotion) and toner(Lotus Herbals Basiltone) which I had been using for the past couple of months. Today I will be discussing about the last stop of my CTM routine- Neutrogena Oil-Free Facial moisturiser.
Yes, oily faces do need moisturisers. If not used, the skin tends to produce more sebum than usual to maintain the balance. Oily skinned beauties should look for oil free or water based moisturisers. I always used to run away from moisturisers, completely ignorant about the fact that it did more harm than good. I felt they were only for the winter skin- all dry and stretchy. Thank god I realized it (a little late though )
I was visiting the local beauty store one day and the “Oil-Free” tag caught my attention and I love experimenting .
Packaging: Comes in a sturdy opaque white plastic bottle. When held against light, the amount of product left can be seen. Has a pump dispenser which can be locked. Hence spill proof and travel friendly.
Price: Rs. 299 for 115 ml
Shelf life: 2 years
Product says: Neutrogena oil-Free Moisture facial moisturiser SPF 15. All day moisturisation. Lightweight, non greasy formula keeps skin moisturised for 12 hours. Effective sun protection. UVA-UVB SPF 15 sunscreens help prevent damage to the skin caused by everyday exposure to the sun’s rays.
- Won’t clog pores
- Alcohol free
- Allergy tested
- Fragrance free
Directions: Use one pump and apply all over face and neck. Use daily, alone or under make-up.
Active ingredients: Octyl Methoxycinnamate 6% w/w, Phenylbenzimidazole Sulfonic Acid 1% w/w.
Consistency: The moisturiser is white in color and of medium consistency( not runny not thick cream like). Very light. No artificial fragrance hence smells like chemical which fades soon.
How it fared on me: I love this moisturiser. It is really light weight and non greasy when applied moderately. One can easily go overboard with this and then it shows up like those sticky sunscreens. For me 1/2 pump is enough to cover my face and neck. It has SPF 15 but I prefer to use sunscreen with higher SPF when I stay outdoors for long.
TO SUM UP:
- Really lightweight and non-greasy
- Easily absorbed by the skin
- Does not clog pores-did not experience any breakouts using this
- Alcohol free, allergy tested, fragrance free( good for people with sensitive skin)
- SPF 15
- Easy convenient packaging
- Pricey for 115 ml of moisturiser. But then Neutrogena products cost more when compared to few others. Not really a dislike since the product is good.
Final Verdict: Great moisturiser for combination to oily skins. Will suit sensitive skins as well. Dry skinned girls can check it out in the summers.
Will I buy this again: Yes but later. Half of the product is still left and then I would love to experiment with other brands. Will definitely come back to this when tired .
