Gone are the days when I (or rather all of us) used to drool over bath soaps- I used to compare their fragrance, color and shape and never ever thought how drying they were (I was not a maniac then). Things have changed since. I laid my hands on my first body wash (it was Palmolive Thermal Spa) 5 years ago and never touched soap ever again. You might be thinking why I am blabbering about my old stupid history lesson on body wash. Well, no reason as such, maybe because today’s review is about LUX Strawberry & Cream Body Wash, it is cheap yet quite good.
Product says: LUX Strawberry & Cream Body Wash, SOFT & SMOOTH. Noticeably Smooth Skin with Silk Protein Extract. Enjoy the sensation of moisturized soft skin with Lux Strawberry & Cream body wash! Enriched with exclusive silk protein extract and strawberry cream, it forms a light creamy layer that wraps your skin, helping to hold the moisture that it needs!
Directions for use: Pour a petal sized amout of Lux bodywash on a wet loofah or your palm and apply on skin. Indulge in the rich creamy lather. Rinse off.
Ingredients: Water, Myristic Acid, Lauric Acid, Potassium Hydroxide, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Palmitic Acid, Potassium Chloride, Perfume, Glycol Distearate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Glycerin, Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, Methylisothiazolinone, Etidronic Acid, BHT, Tetrasodium EDTA, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Glucoside, Sericin, Prunus Persica (Peach) Fruit Extract, Fragaria Vesca (Strawberry) Fruit Extract, Nelumbium Speciosum Flower Oil, Cl 17200, Cl 14700.
Price: Rs. 115 for 240 ml
Shelf Life: 30 months
Packaging: The body wash comes in a sturdy plastic bottle with a flip open cap that fits well. Also available in a smaller bottle. 240 ml pack can be bulky to carry around.
Consistency: The body wash has normal liquid soap consistency (not runny) hence no fear of taking out more than required amount. Has a beautiful pale pink color and smell is same as the soap version of this.
How did it fare on me: The body wash lathers very well and the foam is soft and creamy (unlike many others which are runny and slippery). Only a little amount produces enough lather. It removes dirt and sweat effectively and leaves skin squeaky clean. The body wash leaves behind a sweet smell which lingers for sometime. It rinses off easily and does not leave behind that soapy slippery feel.
TO SUM UP:
- Foam is soft and velvety.
- Cleans well.
- Small amount produces adequate lather.
- Leaves skin soft and not stretchy and dry (I have normal-oily skin on my body) .
- Soapy smell (not a con exactly).
- Does not moisturize skin.
Final Verdict: A pretty good body wash for normal to oily skin. Dry skinned ladies might find it a bit drying. Nothing luxurious hence is great for everyday use.
Wish Me Beauty Blog rating: 4/5 (could have been a bit moisturising but absolutely OK for the price)
Will I recommend: Yes. If you are looking for a daily use body wash without any special requirements, go for it.

I tried removing blackheads and whiteheads at home on my own. Ouch!!! It hurts… A LOT. I always thought the parlour girls did it roughly… now I get it… it is not their fault. The plus point of doing it at home, I was giving myself a 30 seconds *aww my skin* break after extracting each whitehead LOL and I don’t have to curse anybody for hurting me so bad (plus it saves money).
